As Narrative Designer at Amazon Games, I revamped and added side quests to improve the player experience from level 1 to 60.

Since expansions were being released, we wanted the player to reach level 60 sooner and the difficulty curve was flattened in order to do this. I designed quests and NPCs and implemented these in Lumberyard.

I chose monsters for the player to battle based on their stats, set the probability for item drops and determined how many tasks a player would need to do in a quest.

I had to complement the main quests with the side quests in theme, tone and pathing. I kept them light and approachable to be a break from the more rigorous main quests.
