‘I got into game design because I wanted to be a Disney Princess.’
I loved Beauty and the Beast as a child. Not for the romance, but for the adventurous spirit of Belle. I didn’t want to do what I was told. I wanted to have world adventures, fight monsters and sing in the forest whenever I could.
How could I live like a Princess? I needed to give myself what I wanted, while giving others what they needed from me. I outlined the core loop of a stable mind and strengthened it. I understood what were optional downloads from the world and my parents, and discarded the ones I didn’t like. I chose daily and weekly challenges which suited me. I stuck to my message and I let the folk who connect to my voice, gather around me. I call them friends.
I live my life like a game, where I am the game designer. And yes, I got the life of a Princess. Some mornings, you’ll hear me singing to the black squirrels and little duckies at the seawall. While I don’t leave any slippers lying around, I paint with the colours of the wind. One day I may share a dream with you!
